This article comes at the perfect time. Your insight on the two wolves, especially the second version, is so briliant. What if we applied this 'feed both' approach to all our difficult feelings? A true paradigm shift.

Thank you for your reflection! Yes, it really changes how I see the challenges of living.

First, that was a gut-punch of an ending, you love your father a ton, and I wish both of you the best !

Second, to quote Miguel and Tulio "Both, both is good"

It was incredible for me, cause my situation shares in the misalignment with the father, but the contrast is: he just doesn't talk or open up conversation with me, ever -- no malice involved, we kinda both just realized and accepted how opposed our outlooks are -- we differ in certain core aspects nature-wise, but I also know we would’ve been closer had he been afforded a wider nurture environment when he was younger

I do get mad, cause he doesn't introspect that he no longer lives in the same environment -- and shuts down the start of any introspection he happens upon :/

We communicate through our interests beyond anything else. He communicates through what he cooks and he’ll sometimes take notice of something I'm doing or have done on occasion, and appreciate just the scene of it.

No verbal communication seems sad. But it's ok, we’ll still listen to each other having convos with another person in the room.

Cooking is where he lets himself be his own wolf, but he rejects any notion that it's his passion

I find your yearning for more communion and your appreciation of what is there both beautiful. The idea of connecting through listening to each other’s convos with others is really interesting.

I love this so much, your stories and all the sources you brought it. Talk Maslow-critique to me ANYtime.

Thank you, friend! Your encouragement was part of what made this whole essay happen. I even wrote a section about our writing session but ended up cutting it (along with 90% of the first and second drafts)!
